# Asif Warns Iran War Part of ‘Zionist Agenda’ to Encircle Pakistan

**Islamabad (TDI):** Defense Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday said the war imposed on Iran was part of a broader “Zionist agenda” aimed at extending Israel’s influence up to Pakistan’s borders and strategically encircling the country.

In a post on X, Asif said that despite Tehran’s readiness for an agreement, conflict had been forced upon it. He urged all 250 million Pakistanis, regardless of political or religious affiliation, to recognise what he described as a larger conspiracy against the country.

“It is necessary for all 250 million Pakistanis… to understand this conspiracy and the intentions of our eternal enemies,” he wrote.

The Middle East conflict has expanded over the past four days, with Israel carrying out strikes inside Iran and Tehran launching missiles and drones at what it described as US interests and bases across Gulf states.

Several senior Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were killed in the airstrikes conducted by Israel and the United States.

Iranian officials have described Khamenei’s death as a turning point, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps vowing retaliation and declaring that the attacks would not go unanswered.

In his statement, Asif described Zionism as a threat to humanity, alleging that since the establishment of Israel in Palestine, conflicts in the Islamic world have carried the direct or indirect imprint of Zionist ideology.

He further claimed that Zionism had controlled the global economic system for over a century and that major world powers were effectively being held hostage by it.

Referring to Pakistan’s strategic capabilities, the defense minister said the country was a recognised nuclear power and credited its armed forces for safeguarding national sovereignty. He paid tribute to Pakistan’s “martyrs and ghazis” and acknowledged the role of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in conducting the 1998 nuclear tests, which he said firmly established Pakistan’s nuclear status.

Asif warned that the broader agenda behind the war included pushing Israel’s influence towards Pakistan’s western borders. He said that a coordinated alignment involving Afghanistan, Iran and India could create a hostile strategic environment for Pakistan, resulting in insecurity along its frontiers and the risk of encirclement.

He cautioned that such a scenario could reduce Pakistan to a “vassal state” if national unity and vigilance were not maintained.

Concluding his statement, Asif called for unity across the Islamic world, prayed for the freedom of Palestine, and expressed hope that Pakistan would remain strong and secure in the face of regional challenges.
