# Artists from Pakistan & Azerbaijan organize art exhibition

Baku, 15 October 2022 (TDI): The artists from Pakistan and Azerbaijan have organized a joint art exhibition from October 14 to 17 in Baku. The exhibition aims to promote peace and prosperity through art.

##### Inaugural ceremony of the exhibition**

The exhibition will be open to the general public without any entry fee. It is being co-sponsored by the [Embassy of Pakistan in Baku](https://mofa.gov.pk/baku-azerbaijan/) and the Administration of State Historical-Architectural Reserve [Icherisheher](https://icherisheher.gov.az/en).

The exhibition is part of a series of events to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

The Chairperson of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ganira Pashayeva, attended the opening ceremony of the event.

Moreover, the Chair of the Board of State Historical-Architectural Reserve Icherisheher, Shahin Seyidzade also attended the inaugural ceremony.

The Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan, Bilal Hayee, emphasized the significance of the theme of the exhibition in his remarks.

He stated that the theme of the exhibition sent a message of peace and hope to the people of both countries which were beset with conflicts and natural calamities.

Moreover, he acknowledged the joint initiative of artists as an admirable step towards the promotion of deep cultural cooperation. Ganira Pashayeva and Shahin Seyidzade also spoke on the occasion and eulogized the initiative of the artists.

They viewed the exhibition as a positive step in promoting cultural cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

The Azerbaijani historian and blogger, Irada Gadirova, made a presentation about her recent trip to Pakistan. She shared the rich and beautiful culture of Pakistan and praised the warm hospitality of the people of Pakistan.

##### **Pakistan-Azerbaijan bilateral relations**

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan on December 12, 1991.

The two countries established diplomatic relations on June 9, 1992. The government of Azerbaijan donated USD 1 million and in 2011, USD 2 million to help lift the consequences of flood disasters in Pakistan.
