Islamabad (TDI): Chairman of the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP), Prof. Dr. Chaudhary Abdul Rehman, visited the OIC-COMSTECH Secretariat in Islamabad and met with Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General of OIC-COMSTECH, to discuss expanding collaborative initiatives in higher education and research.
The meeting focused on strengthening ongoing and future cooperation under the COMSTECH–APSUP partnership, particularly in the areas of education, scientific research, and capacity building among member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Prof. Dr. Iqbal Choudhary extended sincere thanks to the Chairman APSUP for his continued cooperation in the effective implementation of various joint initiatives, including leadership and character development programs for university administrators from OIC countries.
During the meeting, it was agreed to continue supporting Palestinian students in securing placements at Pakistani universities and to undertake joint efforts for the reconstruction and capacity building of Gaza-Palestine in the fields of higher education, science, technology, and health.

The participants also discussed preparations for the 5th Rectors’ Conference, scheduled to be held at COMSTECH Secretariat on 3–5 December 2025, where the training program “Leading with Character” for international Vice Chancellors from OIC countries will also be launched.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration through joint training programs, translation of academic resources such as” Leading with Character” into Arabic and French, and providing support for researchers from OIC countries.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with a shared vision to enhance academic excellence, leadership development, and research cooperation across the Muslim world.
