Tripoli, 9 September 2021 (TDI): The Department of American Affairs, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held the first virtual meeting with the heads of Libyan missions in the United States on September 8, 2021, based on the guidelines of the ministry’s undersecretary for political affairs, Muhammad Khalil Issa.
Muhammad Khalil Issa stressed that this initiative to communicate with missions abroad is part of the creation of a periodic mechanism of continuous communication, consultation, and exchange of views and an attempt to solve the problems faced by Libyan embassies abroad and its diplomatic and consular offices and administrative activity.
Furthermore, the Director of America’s Affairs Department confirmed that this meeting is an opportunity to promote the interests of political action and defend Libya’s interests abroad.
The heads of the mission also discussed the financial and administrative difficulties encountered by embassies and the difficulties in providing adequate services to the Libyan communities present in some countries.
