Islamabad, 15 December 2021 (TDI): The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Alzaabi called on the Pakistani Federal Minister for Railways, Muhammad Azam Khan Swati.
The agenda of the official meeting between the two officials was to discuss issues pertaining to enhanced economic cooperation between Pakistan and UAE. Minister Azam Khan Swati welcomed the Emirati Ambassador. He shared details regarding possible key areas of cooperation between the two countries.
Azam Khan Swati expressed that the Government of Pakistan is continuously making efforts to create an improved and lucrative investment climate in Pakistan. The Government of Pakistan is striving to create an attractive environment for foreign investors and enterprises, by creating ease of business.
Whilst Ambassador Hamad Obaid Alzaabi on his part appreciated the prospects of various investment opportunities in Pakistan. In addition, he also lauded the response and determination of the Pakistani Government to enhance and upgrade the Railway sector of the country.
Bilateral Relations between UAE and Pakistan
Pakistan and the UAE have enjoyed cordial and brotherly bilateral relations, ever since the latter’s inception. Over the years, the relationship between the two has morphed into a mutually beneficial relationship encompassing cooperation in multifarious dimensions.
The two partners regularly collaborate at high levels in the fields of defense, trade, industry, education as well as infrastructure development. Furthermore, Pakistan and UAE both are committed to bolstering and diversifying relations in all fields.
Economically, the UAE is one of the most significant trade partners of Pakistan in the Middle Eastern Region. In that regard, Pakistan is also participating in the Dubai Expo 2020 by maintaining a pavilion. Dubai Expo 2020 is organized by the UAE which was earlier, delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Aside from that, a lot of Pakistani citizens are also employed in the UAE.
