Brazil- SriLanka Relations
Sri Lanka established its diplomatic linkages with the Latin American States in the 1950s. There are only two diplomatic missions of the country in the region with one in Brazil and the second one in Cuba. There are 12 Honorary Consuls in the region to cover the needs. Sri Lanka also interacts with the regional countries through various international and multilateral forums.
In the 1960s, Sri Lanka opened its diplomatic mission in Brazil and later close it in the 70s and later opened again in 2002. Currently, the entire export from Sri Lanka to Brazil is not very encouraging however it is growing with each passing day. Both countries enjoy strong diplomatic ties and working on to build this further.
