Rawalpindi, 24 January 2022 (TDI): Ambassador of Morocco to Pakistan, Mohamed Karmoune paid a visit to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, today. The meeting took place between the two at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.

Agenda of the Meeting

During the meeting between the two officials, matters pertaining to mutual interests were discussed. The role and task of both nations in bilateral defense were also talked about.

When it came to the status of security, the significance of joint cooperation was highlighted. Security could be further improved and strengthened if both nations keep on working together.

Moreover, the prevailing humanitarian crisis in neighboring war-torn Afghanistan and the associated security threats were deliberated upon in the meeting. Furthermore, the impact and effects of the said crisis on regional stability and security were discussed as well.

Pakistan values relations with Morocco

The Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa on his part highlighted that Pakistan greatly values its good and brotherly relations with Morocco. He further went on to say that Pakistan will work to further deepen and strengthen its diplomatic ties with the country.

Additionally, it was stated that work regarding the strengthening of relations will be done in an array of sectors and domains. Lastly, it was said that mutual and common interests that will benefit both nations will be kept at the core while broadening the ties.

Ambassador of Morocco commended Pakistan’s role and efforts in Afghanistan

The visiting Ambassador of Morocco expressed his appreciation and acknowledgment over the role played by Pakistan for regional stability and security in general, and in Afghanistan’s situation, in particular.

Aside from that, the Ambassador promised to play an effective role for significant improvement in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan in a wide array of domains and sectors.
