# Amazon Internet Outage Affects Major Websites and Apps Including Snapchat

Major websites and apps including Amazon, Google, Snapchat, Roblox, Fortnite, Duolingo, and Canva have been hit by an outage at the Amazon Web Services (AWS).

In the most recent statement, Amazon said it has identified the problem and is working on it already. “We are seeing significant signs of recovery.” “Most requests should now be succeeding.”

“We continue to work through a backlog of queued requests. We will continue to provide additional information,” the statement added.

The outage has affected several bank apps as well, like Halifax and Lloyds. Transactions were not processed and people reported their cards declined.

The web services of amazon host world’s major websites and apps; and *Down Detector* says around 500 companies have been affected by the problem.

The *Detector* reported more than four million reports of issues globally just this morning. The outage has affected websites, apps and services on the AWS cloud computing, while services that are run on other hosts are working just fine.

The trouble began in the early hours of Monday in the U.S. East region when AWS reported “increased error rates and latencies for multiple AWS services in the US‑EAST‑1 Region.” The issue expanded further when other major websites and apps also started reporting problems.

Here are the names of some of the service and apps that have experienced the issue: Snapchat, Slack, Signal, Tinder, Ring, Roblox, Clash Royale, Life360, My Fitness Pal, Xero, Canva, Amazon, Amazon Web Services, Amazon Music, Prime Video, Clash of Clans, Fortnite, Wordle, Duolingo, Coinbase, HMRC, Vodafone, Playstation, Pokémon Go, Zoom.
