Doha, 13 October 2021: Norwegian Ambassador to Kabul, Ole Andreas Lindemen met with the Minister of Culture and Information, Mullah Khairallah Khairkhwa today.
At the outset, Minister Khairullah Khairkhwa expressed his appreciation of Norway’s continued support and commitment to the Afghan peace process and its cooperation with Afghanistan over the past 19 years. Both sides then exchanged views on the latest developments in Afghanistan, including the mechanism to strengthening and merging regional consensus on peace and the importance of preserving the gains of the past two decades.
Ambassador Lindeman discussed the high level of violence, including the alarming levels of civilian casualties and recent attacks, are not conducive to the success of the peace talks. The Norwegian Ambassador spoke about the review of the Strategic Partnership Agreement between the two countries, especially about the expansion of economic cooperation. Both sides conversed the bilateral relations, preservation of cultural and historical monuments, and human rights situation. In the end, they emphasized the efforts to further strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
